E Tree points and ranking not syncing up between mobile and desktop.

Hi guys, Ive been participating in the Microsoft weather E Tree program for quite a while now and i've just noticed that my points and rank arent synced up between my mobile weather app and my desktop edge browser webpage. Ive just broken into the top 50 and yet my name doesnt appear in the top 50 list. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Matt710,

As per Anonkj's reply, the thread that talks about hacking and some more information on the web, following possibilities:

  1. Microsoft has stopped the program but not yet removed it - may come back with revamped version
  2. The hacking that happened in ranking caused Microsoft to freeze the last correct rank list. - So your present rank of 13 is against the frozen rank list and not the real updated scenario. My rank is 12 as of today. Once Microsoft allows the current actual rank list to be visible and updated again - we'll get our real rank and that may be much below 50 (I feel).
  3. There is some bug in the program and Microsoft is yet to correct it.

Hope they at least plant the trees that we all have virtually grown.

    Hi Mohit,

    I was just collecting todays points when your question came through. I am still collecting points daily although sometimes I feel like stopping it. It feels like what's the point of it other than to give Microsoft site visit activities? I started this to help the earth in some small ways, but it feels like they are cheating me and others of their time.

    Very true. We started with a thought of putting in our one bit to help the environment. Then it became the habit/daily routine.

    Now only the habit is keeping us going as the larger picture seems to have crumbled.

    I noticed one more thing today.

    If we click the E-tree tab in the map, it shows various tree plantation locations. The last entry is 29th May 2023. Nothing after that. That's more than a year old. Seems the program is over :(

    Yes, last planted was in 2023 as per their pictures. I had hoped they would update it at some point of time, seems not.

    Earlier when the program was getting hacked then they would pause the updates of the table for some time but this time there was no hacking. So probably it's stopped for good.

    I just hope there will be some kind of update soon as it's 70 days now.
