E Tree points and ranking not syncing up between mobile and desktop.

Hi guys, Ive been participating in the Microsoft weather E Tree program for quite a while now and i've just noticed that my points and rank arent synced up between my mobile weather app and my desktop edge browser webpage. Ive just broken into the top 50 and yet my name doesnt appear in the top 50 list. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Matt710,

As per Anonkj's reply, the thread that talks about hacking and some more information on the web, following possibilities:

  1. Microsoft has stopped the program but not yet removed it - may come back with revamped version
  2. The hacking that happened in ranking caused Microsoft to freeze the last correct rank list. - So your present rank of 13 is against the frozen rank list and not the real updated scenario. My rank is 12 as of today. Once Microsoft allows the current actual rank list to be visible and updated again - we'll get our real rank and that may be much below 50 (I feel).
  3. There is some bug in the program and Microsoft is yet to correct it.

Hope they at least plant the trees that we all have virtually grown.

    I am not sure about that. I had been checking the points and trees of all people in list (in general) and normally trees = Points/10000 +1

    Though there are some names where No. of trees are quite less compared to Points but probably they are in geographies where mobile app is not available so they get a tree planted only after 50k points.

    Some progressions happening over last months that seem not normal.

    It seems Anonkj has stopped collecting points or doing at non-regular basis. Our difference was 90k points which has come down to 15k

    On the other hand, the difference with Matt710 was 15k which has come down to 3k.

    What's happening guys?

    I'm collecting points on regular basis. My mobile app daily rewards got reset twice in this period giving me a loss

    of 5k or so but difference with Matt710 is much lesser. How are you getting more points?

    Anonkj - Have you got some other better interest-pulling activity?

    Hi Mohit,

    Good to hear from you. You are lucky that your mobile app only got reset twice. Mine was getting reset almost every 9-10 days. Then I had to travel to India which also coincided with the reset time which was fine. But then 4 days later it reset again. I was already getting upset with the previous when this also happened. So I uninstalled my app lol. I also stopped the sidebar the same time. I didn't only stop the browser version as I didn't want to lose my streak which is now on day 350. Maybe when I go back to UK and get back to daily routine I will restart it. By that time you and Matt both will have overtaken me.

    Sad to know that.
    I have found one thing - mobile app should be used right in morning or latest before 12pm. Both times when it got reset for me, I've opened it after 12 pm.

    You are in India? We can connect for a cup of tea/coffee at least, if in Mumbai.
