E Tree points and ranking not syncing up between mobile and desktop.

Hi guys, Ive been participating in the Microsoft weather E Tree program for quite a while now and i've just noticed that my points and rank arent synced up between my mobile weather app and my desktop edge browser webpage. Ive just broken into the top 50 and yet my name doesnt appear in the top 50 list. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Matt710,

As per Anonkj's reply, the thread that talks about hacking and some more information on the web, following possibilities:

  1. Microsoft has stopped the program but not yet removed it - may come back with revamped version
  2. The hacking that happened in ranking caused Microsoft to freeze the last correct rank list. - So your present rank of 13 is against the frozen rank list and not the real updated scenario. My rank is 12 as of today. Once Microsoft allows the current actual rank list to be visible and updated again - we'll get our real rank and that may be much below 50 (I feel).
  3. There is some bug in the program and Microsoft is yet to correct it.

Hope they at least plant the trees that we all have virtually grown.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the clarification Annonkj. No more confusions. I remember well about the 10k of Christmas but thought you could get it converted somehow. My Bad.

    Cheats do help in moral boosting in a way - when a cheat is booted out, we suddenly get a ranking jump 😊

    Good to remain in touch and now we three are together on the ranking table too.

    My mobile is also 10k ahead of the desktop version, apparently its connected to last Christmas when we awarded the extra points for completing a one off Xmas tree. The points have never synced since then, whether this was intentional or not on Microsoft's part who knows. Its frustrating so many cheats are still appearing in the top 50, you'd think they'd be booted off by now, its not like its hard to work out who they are. Anyways, glad to hear you are doing well!

    Sorry for causing any misunderstanding.

    I was collecting points on browser 500 every day for a month (August-Sept) and sometimes the timed 200 points (didn't do sidebar or app).

    So I got 500*30=15000 give or take a few days, so maybe over the month I might have collected around 20-25k.

    This caused me not to gain any new tree in the whole month since it was less than 50k as per browser.

    When I downloaded Bing, it automatically took those points into account and maybe planted those 2 trees for me.

    For you the 10k difference is the Christmas/new year bonus points/tree which if I remember correctly was @Matts710's original question for this post. This difference most who played last year has including me.

    Hope I cleared your confusion (or maybe got you more confused).

    Hi Bijou & SR,

    Apologies for confusing and interchanging the names.

    @Annonkj(SR),

    I have been using mobile app through Bing only. So I click the Bing app Icon and choose the weather tile to open the weather app/page. The partially hidden circle on top right gives access to E-Tree. I also have 10k more there compared to edge. How DO I use that 10k to plant trees as you mentioned?

    My daily streaks are going well in all three places. No reset for quite some months now (73 mobile, 95 sidebar and 426 edge). I did miss daily bonus once. So, loss of 200 only.
    Not sure what's happening.
    Still going on and going strong 🙂
