360 videos in WMR not working

Hello,

I'm having issues with the new Microsoft edge playing 360/vr videos in WMR. First of all, to get an option to play vr video I have to go through that app "360 videos" in the cliff house. Finding a 360 video via youtube in edge directly doesn't work because the goggle icon on the bottom of the screen is missing. However, if I start any of the offered 360 videos via the cliff house 360 video app, that opens youtube video in the edge, and now the goggle icon is present. This allows me to play VR videos, but really this doesn't work either because the videos are very choppy. I did not have this issue prior to the new edge installation. I'm using Samsung Odyssey+. Any suggestions to solve this issue?

After looong trial and error,.....

Start with a reboot, Googles HDMI connected, USB disconnected (after completed boot),....plug in Goggles (USB), .......

Make sure Mixed Reality Portal NOT running and controllers are not connected to your computer (bluetooth)

On Desktop, run Microsoft Edge> go to youtube select a 360 video, you'll see the Goggle Icon , click it to enter VR,

now Mixed Reality Portal will start, ....put on your Goggles and enjoy the video.

After that you can select any other 360 video and it will work as long as all control stays with the desktop.

REPEAT:

All control has to stay with the desktop, otherwise it will not work.

Controllers have to stay disconnected, otherwise it will throw you back into the Cliff House

Hope this helps, and please,.....Microsoft,.....GET IT FIXED !!!

My setup:

Samsung Odyssey+

Win 10 v21H1 (Os Build 19043.1055), i7-9750H, Nvidia RTX 2060, 32GB

(All latest Drivers)

Thank you all, the feedback bugs just got escalated and got to us today. I confirmed the reports from Warrie and 2 others all have issues with G2 headset. We will be looking into them this week and will update this thread.

    Hi guys, any news?

Hi Warrie and folks who are still hitting the WebXR issue with your MR devices,

Unfortunately the TTT trace was indeed a bit hard to capture from the customer perspective. I suggest we start with this simple send feedback using "Feedback Hub" to start with, we will triage the initial info to hope to narrow down the issue. The full instruction is here: Send feedback to Microsoft with the Feedback Hub app .

    My simplified step is:

    1. Make sure you repro the issue (4 spinning dot) in Edge once or twice right before filing the feedback.
    2. From Start Menu, search and launch "Feedback Hub"
    3. Choose "Report a problem"
    4. Fill out your summary and detail, you can put your user name "Warrie" so that I can identify the one that is yours from our side.
      1. Make sure to indicate the symptoms that you are seeing: 4 spinning dots, or any other issue.
    5. Choose "Category" as "Problem"
    6. Make sure to choose category "Mixed Reality" -> "WebVR in Edge"
    7. You dont need to capture a repro since you just repro it before filing the feedback.
    8. Follow through the rest and submit.

Step #1 and #6 are important to have.

I believe this step is much simpler for customer to use and would give us enough information to determine the next step. We will take a look at this data this week and will update this thread.

Thank you for your patience and feedbacks.
