Managing media playback issues and settings in Microsoft Edge on Windows 10

Hello,
I'm having issues with the new Microsoft edge playing 360/vr videos in WMR. First of all, to get an option to play vr video I have to go through that app "360 videos" in the cliff house. Finding a 360 video via youtube in edge directly doesn't work because the goggle icon on the bottom of the screen is missing. However, if I start any of the offered 360 videos via the cliff house 360 video app, that opens youtube video in the edge, and now the goggle icon is present. This allows me to play VR videos, but really this doesn't work either because the videos are very choppy. I did not have this issue prior to the new edge installation. I'm using Samsung Odyssey+. Any suggestions to solve this issue?

After looong trial and error,.....
Start with a reboot, Googles HDMI connected, USB disconnected (after completed boot),....plug in Goggles (USB), .......
Make sure Mixed Reality Portal NOT running and controllers are not connected to your computer (bluetooth)
On Desktop, run Microsoft Edge> go to youtube select a 360 video, you'll see the Goggle Icon , click it to enter VR,
now Mixed Reality Portal will start, ....put on your Goggles and enjoy the video.
After that you can select any other 360 video and it will work as long as all control stays with the desktop.
REPEAT:
All control has to stay with the desktop, otherwise it will not work.
Controllers have to stay disconnected, otherwise it will throw you back into the Cliff House
Hope this helps, and please,.....Microsoft,.....GET IT FIXED !!!
My setup:
Samsung Odyssey+
Win 10 v21H1 (Os Build 19043.1055), i7-9750H, Nvidia RTX 2060, 32GB
(All latest Drivers)
So I thought I was using the beta.. but I did not know there were separate 'dev' and 'canary' version.
In my testing I was using the dev version.
So I just installed Canary. Hardware acceleration on. Good news is that the video isn't choppy anymore on my desktop.
Bad news is that I still get 4 spinning balls with my G2.
I'm experiencing same issues as described in this thread. When in Mixed Reality (Cliff House) open Edge and navigate to a website that has the mixed reality icon, when you click on the video, the VR video attempts to play, you get the kaleidoscope affect like its taking you into the VR video, you get the spheres start circling, then it crashes and kicks you back to the Cliff House.
I don't understand what Edge Canary is.
- Name of VR Headset: Samsung Odyssey Plus
- Which VR Controllers attached (if any): Samsung Odyssey Plus
- Number of GPUs installed in your computer, and which ones: 1, GTX 1660 Ti
- Edge version: 91.0.864.64
- 360 viewer version (expand 'extensions' to see this version number): version 2_4_8
- Search for "Apps & Features" in the Windows start menu and open the first result. Find "OpenXR for Windows Mixed Reality", click "Advanced Options", and paste the version here (Should be something like 106.xxxx.xxxxx.x): 106.2105.21002.0
- Do you have SteamVR installed? Yes
- If so, please provide the value of this registry key on your machine: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Khronos\OpenXR\1] Not sure what you mean.
In Microsoft Edge, navigate to Immersive VR Session (immersive-web.github.io) and click "Enter VR".
- What behavior do you experience? (for example, black screen with four spinning dots, black screen and then quickly back to the cliff house, "VR Not Found" is displayed, or some other behavior): As described above. I am in the cliff house, i open Edge, I navigate to the address, I click enter VR, I get the kaleidoscope affect like it's taking me into the VR video, I get a quick blip of white spheres circling, I get a half second of seeing a solar system and then it crashes and kicks me back out into the cliff house, edge is still open but it is greyed out and my cursor is showing a half moon and a couple zz's and it opens up my virtual keyboard.
As a further test, if I leave the controllers off and test by navigating to a site with VR video, it attempts to load as described above, then crashes to grey screen and says page is not responding.
Do you have a solution? Thanks.
