Microsoft Edge on Mac crashes

I recently heard about the Microsoft Edge available on Mac and decided to try it out, so I downloaded on the website and follow the instructions. But once it's installed, the app pops like like any other Mac apps, but it instantly crashed and closed by itself, even with several times of reinstalling. Is there anything I could do to fix this? Like something needed to change in the settings?

    I had the same issue. With each download, I was unchecking the box which said "Help Microsoft improve our products by sending crash reports, info about how you use the browser, and websites you visit." Only when I downloaded the browser and left this box checked would the application launch. Not sure that's the behavior you want from a browser that is selling itself on privacy.

    That makes no difference on my mac. It crashes whether that box is checked or not.

    Copy from the crash page:

    "

    "

    So it is the code signing that is not right (according to my mac).

    diskutil resetUserPermissions / id -u.

    REMOVE ALL EDGE and install the latest BETA Build and run the above command and try again!

    It did not change anything. Unfortunately!

    1. Removed the Microsoft Edge that was installed
    2. Installed MicrosoftEdgeBeta-85.0.564.23
    3. As usual Edge started automatically after install and crashed
    4. Ran the command "diskutil resetUserPermissions / id -u." (I guess the ending '.' is not an error ?)
    5. The mac hang
    6. Rebooted with Ctrl+cmd+PowerButton
    7. Started Edge
    8. Edge crashed

    When Edge crashed it showed the same errors as usual.

    What about edge canary build? Does canary build crash also? Have tou tried creating a new user in macos sonethibg like Temp user giving it admin right and logging into new profile and trying edge beta or edge canary?

    the terninal command i gave you shoukd have ran and in the end it should say pernissions success reset done.  Strange the mac locked up in you? Anyway try new user name and try those steps again. Cause when i was having alk these issues before simple new user fixed them, reset permissions fixed my main user profileb alsod
