Microsoft Edge on Mac crashes

I recently heard about the Microsoft Edge available on Mac and decided to try it out, so I downloaded on the website and follow the instructions. But once it's installed, the app pops like like any other Mac apps, but it instantly crashed and closed by itself, even with several times of reinstalling. Is there anything I could do to fix this? Like something needed to change in the settings?

    Same problem for me on macOS 10.15.5 , MicrosoftEdge-83.0.478.58.

    I try to run from Applications folder, the app icon appears briefly, bounces once then vanishes and nothing happens. App must be crashing immediately. Tried reinstalling. Still does not work.

    Microsoft Edge won't run on my mac at all.

    The crash report says (among many other things)

    ......

    Exception Type:        EXC_CRASH (Code Signature Invalid)

    Exception Codes:       0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000

    Exception Note:        EXC_CORPSE_NOTIFY

    Termination Reason:    Namespace CODESIGNING, Code 0x1

    .....

    So Microsoft Edge (installed with MicrosoftEdge-83.0.478.58.pkg) isn't signed right!!

    That might be possible to solve.

    I even tried to reinstall, which made it worse.

    I have the same problem, the icon just bounces and the app never opens, the service crashes or closes with no errors at all... I have customers laptop here and its doing the same thing as my Imac. I created a new user on mine and im able to open it under TEMP profile which is a new user its working there, but i tried creating a new user on my customers laptop which runs Catalina and it still wont open. 

    btw im Running Big sur Beta 2, but catalina was the same issue for me..

    OP, TwelveGem can you create a new user and let us know if under a new profile Edge opens?

    I have exactly same issue and currently working with MS via email to try and fix this, Macos Big sur beta has the same issue..

    what do you mean worse? whats it doing now? let me know, also can you try under a fresh brand new user and let me know if it opeens that way? i have same thing going on and im trying on different macs but i get different results you know.
