Microsoft Edge on Mac crashes

I recently heard about the Microsoft Edge available on Mac and decided to try it out, so I downloaded on the website and follow the instructions. But once it's installed, the app pops like like any other Mac apps, but it instantly crashed and closed by itself, even with several times of reinstalling. Is there anything I could do to fix this? Like something needed to change in the settings?

    I downloaded MicrosoftEdge-92.0.902.67 from the Microsoft Website today 11 Aug 21 and it does not work!

    NOT SOLVED. It won't work for me. Just instantly crashes when trying to open, and I downloaded it via Safari.

    please help sir , i am facing problem in microsoft edge (when i open any pdf through the edge it stuck and stop scrolling and also not able to close it ) , thnen i decide to unistall and then reinstall . i unistalled but how i install again from chrome browser . in chrome browser not showing install option only showing open microsoft edge. please please help sir please

    Yep, this worked for me as well.

    How idiotic that anyone would have to do something like this to get a program working...

    I guess this is the same reason that hackers can break into Microsofts networks and wreak havoc....no attention to details...

    Thanks for nothing Microsoft programmers...

    How much do you guys make a year again???........

    I've just been experimenting with Catalina on an old MacMini and installed both Edge and Chrome, but they both crashed on opening. After a lot of searching I found the following fix, which worked for me, on both browsers.

    In Terminal:

    sudo xattr -cr /Applications/Microsoft\ Edge.app

    sudo codesign -f -s - /Applications/Microsoft\ Edge.app

    sudo xattr -lr /Applications/Microsoft\ Edge.app
