Troubleshooting browser crashes or performance issues on Windows 10
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
The new Edge browser will occasionally freeze. When this happens there is no screen control and ending the Edge process using the task manager closes the browser window bur does not release all the resources forcing me to restart the PC. This can happen on a webpage or when watching videos. Is this a known problem and has anyone else experienced this and found a solution? I am running Windows 10 with the 2004 update installed, have no problems with other applications and no freezing when using Firefox or Chrome

I read in another thread that turning off the hardware acceleration from browser settings seems to fix the issue.
Thanks for the tip. The problem is that my screen freezes before I can get all the way through it.
What a mess Microsoft has given us!
I have the exact same problem, it crashes while I'm on a page, forcing me to force restart my computer.
I'm stuck. I've tried so many different things, but never get very far. I have another Windows 10 computer where Edge works just fine, so I'm really puzzled.
Every time that I start up, I get the "Microsoft Edge closed unexpectedly" popup in the upper right hand corner. I can get rid of it by clicking on the "x" (if it hasn't frozen), but it always returns when I start up.
Sometimes I can get farther, but not very, before it freezes.
Microsoft offers ZERO assistance with this problem.
Fix this ASAP. Videos are getting stuck. This should be a P1 for you guys
