New Microsoft Edge freezing intermittently forcing restart

The new Edge browser will occasionally freeze. When this happens there is no screen control and ending the Edge process using the task manager closes the browser window bur does not release all the resources forcing me to restart the PC. This can happen on a webpage or when watching videos. Is this a known problem and has anyone else experienced this and found a solution? I am running Windows 10 with the 2004 update installed, have no problems with other applications and no freezing when using Firefox or Chrome

I was just using Edge to view MSN.com but it freezes on that too. Giving up and going back to Chrome. Ridiculous

how do you turn off the hardware acceleration? I'll be grateful if you could explain in layman's terms as I'm not an IT person. I'm afraid to create more problems 🤢. And by closing all Microsoft stores for sales or repairs there are only Best Buy and Staples to go. Last year, Best Buy assured me they had fixed this same problem but of course, they had not, and they charged $199 for a yr-subscription plus a new hard disk. Bummer. I'd appreciate your help. Thank you

    Edge locks up my computer!

ctl+alt+delete does nothing! The only way to deal with it is to shut down computer with power button!

Anything else you hear, like disabling hardware acceleration is a bunch of hooey!

I switched back to Chrome and have no issue with computer freezing!

I wonder when Microsoft is going to fix it?

    My Build: OS Windows 11Image
