Troubleshooting browser crashes or performance issues on Windows 10
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
The new Edge browser will occasionally freeze. When this happens there is no screen control and ending the Edge process using the task manager closes the browser window bur does not release all the resources forcing me to restart the PC. This can happen on a webpage or when watching videos. Is this a known problem and has anyone else experienced this and found a solution? I am running Windows 10 with the 2004 update installed, have no problems with other applications and no freezing when using Firefox or Chrome

For me it freezes video when using MS Teams video conference in the Edge browser (which I use a lot these days).
I can't end the call and have to close the tab or even the whole browser.
MS: please roll back your last update!!!
By default, we setup Edge at the workplace. This isn’t a common problem because I have only seen my case and one other. So, this is clearly not a widespread problem.
If you really want to get at the bottom of this issue, I suggest you follow the troubleshooting steps provided by Microsoft here:
You can share the step that worked for you. If none did, there is a link to contact support at the bottom of the page. I already was dealing with some quirks other than Edge. I had my data backed up, so I just went ahead and reset the PC. Feel free to do the same if you’re in the same position, but if Edge is the only issue, I recommend you check the support link first.
I restarted the computer. With the latest few builds of Edge Canary the problem went away.
Well, I had other problems with my computer and ended up getting a new hard drive and reinstalling Windows.
Problem solved, although not the way I had planned.
I am curious what you mean be resetting the Computer. Powering it down?
