New Microsoft Edge freezing intermittently forcing restart

The new Edge browser will occasionally freeze. When this happens there is no screen control and ending the Edge process using the task manager closes the browser window bur does not release all the resources forcing me to restart the PC. This can happen on a webpage or when watching videos. Is this a known problem and has anyone else experienced this and found a solution? I am running Windows 10 with the 2004 update installed, have no problems with other applications and no freezing when using Firefox or Chrome

    Any ideas?, I been streaming all night with the chrome browser on both Netfilx and Hulu. And no problems. In addition it seems to be quicker with the streaming applications, no waiting on movies to come up. I wish MS fixes the issue. I am going to monitor this thread if I get additional info I will share it here. By the way I run Windows 11 on a new Dell XPS system every driver and app at latest version.

    As of right now, all computers I’m running Edge don’t have issues. My home computer runs Windows 11 and my work computer runs Windows 10.

    I only had issues in my work computer at some point, but after resetting it, it hasn’t have any issues anymore.

    Have you tried troubleshooting or getting support?

    opening edge would cause desktop stuck, alt+tab stuck and even everthing else sometimes. It happens in win10 after 2021.12.7's windows update. It's happening everytime while opening edge, simply shut it down would cause refresh of desktop and then it would be fine, but how am I able to set it default while EDGE is stucked everytime opening it?
