Has Microsoft E-Tree Been Exploited?

A handful of new users jumped to the top of the leaderboard with round-number points in the millions. Disconcerting to legitimate and dedicated users. Suspicious and conspicuous. Current number 6, Yggdrasil, was in clear first place, at least for the last few months.

    Microsoft should be able to determine why. They should have logs of who earned >10k in a day and via which actions. If these exploiters figured out how to modify earning amounts for any actions or something similar, MS would have the cause and a potential fix.

    (P.S. I think everyone is completely okay with MS paying for these thousands of extra trees to be planted, but the users should be removed from the leaderboard.)

    I'm not 100% sure they are cheating, but the amount of points they all gained over 2 days, is just too suspicious to me. At most everyone can only get a couple of thousands points per day, not hundreds of thousands and millions of points

    I'm hoping MS has logs or can at least can look back and be able to determine what happened and be able to fix and restore it. But at this point, I don't think they even know about it.

    The only thing I can see it being legit, was if there was some sort of event/promotion they participated in that rewarded them with the crazy amount of points, but I'm sure someone would have heard or seen something about it.
