Password import edge not working

Hi guys,

I am having trouble with import my saved passwords from chrome to edge.

Its like the new edge update doenst allow me to import a csv. I can search for it but when i click on import nothing happens.

Tried this on different stations all with the new edge version unfortunate

    Can confirm this is still an ongoing issue with Edge using version 106.0.1370.47 (latest stable channel release). The "Import passwords" option does not produce any result when clicked. This has been checked on multiple installations and running on local machine desktops as well as Remote Desktop Session Host server environments.

    This feature working would make life better for us, as we're in the middle of moving a client's users from a set of old Remote Desktop Session Host servers to a new collection running a more modern Windows Server operating system. Currently we are having to provide the exported password list CSV to our users to re-enter the passwords manually, which is not ideal as the users have control over the CSV file and may not delete it as we've advised (Not great, security-wise, as the passwords are presented in plain text within the CSV file).

    Can any representative from Microsoft provide any indication as to when this feature will be working? It seems quite odd for an option to be visible in a stable release of a product, only to find said feature does nothing.

    Most browsers are based on Chrome these days. This requires that the import from browser functionality can differentiate from Google Chrome and any other browser based on Chrome. Currently this is not the case, so this functionality, too is not effective.

    I actually found a solution by importing all the favorites and passwords from Chrome! Under the "Import browser data now" in edge, import everything from Chrome. After that, all the passwords should pop up. I tested it on 2 machines. It seems that the passwords import feature is bugged in Edge, so I am not using it for the time being.

    Worked for me too. Trying to copy over non-synced favorites and passwords to a new computer. I actually installed Chome, imported the favorites and passwords files. Then "Import browser data" in Edge. Uninstalled Chrome and deleted the leftover profile directory. Worked like a champ.
