Password import edge not working

Hi guys,

I am having trouble with import my saved passwords from chrome to edge.

Its like the new edge update doenst allow me to import a csv. I can search for it but when i click on import nothing happens.

Tried this on different stations all with the new edge version unfortunate

    Ironic how the company that wants you to use their browser instead of others still needs you to use one of them to import your passwords. How long has Edge been around now?

    The best solution I've found is to migrate over on your Android phone and then Sync that data to Edge on your PC

    I would like for Microsoft and EdgeDev team to know that this has been broken for about 1.5-2 months now. It is September 20, 2022, and on a brand-new MacBook Pro I was unable to import a .csv of passwords from any browser.

    Again, today, I cleared and made a clean sync install of Edge Canary and Stable on my Windows PC -- the only passwords that sync are the ones that I manually add. I cannot import a .CSV as I was once able to do.

    I use both Edge and Chrome, but I use Google's password manager as my primary storage for that. From time to time, I erase ALL Edge passwords, and re-import an updated list from Chrome.

    I have used both the export in passwords.google.com and from the internal Chrome settings menu.

    Here's The New Problem: The Android version of Edge grays out .csv files when I go to attempt an import that way!

    I attempted several things at once and had success at an import on Android:

    1. renamed my "Google Passwords.csv" default name that Google provides to "Googlepasswords.csv" with no spaces.
    2. Turned "Autofill for other Apps" is now turned on for Edge Canary on Android (temporarily)
    3. Imported from local storage, and not Google Drive (but I had tried both previously)

    It now imported.

    And it takes a bit to fully Sync to desktop, also, I have a LOT of passwords so it runs sluggish at first.

    I just switched from chrome to edge and I have 2 problems:

    1. No popup offers to save websites on edge and
    2. I cannot import a csv file or direct from chrome into edge.

    Question: are the 2 problems above related or do I have to look for 2 fixes?
