Does the new Edge browser work with Kiosk mode?

I set up loaner devices to just use the browser.  I recently updated them to Windows10-2004 and installed the new Edge browser. I just get a blank blue screen when I try to sign in with kiosk mode after setting it up to open with Edge (the Icon that I am able to select still looks like the old one).  Does anyone know if I need to go back to the old OS or the old Edge?

    Hi,

    What is the current status of the new Edge in Kiosk mode (assigned access)?

    I am still experience some problems with the new Edge in Kiosk mode after applying the following steps:

    1. Removed the old kiosk with Egde Legacy
    2. Added a new kiosk with the new Edge (As a digital sign or interactive display)
    3. Rebooted the tablet

    The screens stays black after rebooting Windows and logging into the Kiosk mode. It seems like the browser stays somewhere in the background since the thumbnail is visible when I swipe left on the screen but clicking on it only show a short flash with the browser. I found a complex workaround to make the browser visible.

    1. Rotate the tablet
    2. Windows search appears.
    3. Click in the search bar
    4. Click on an app
    5. Close the app
    6. The browser is now visible.

    I'm using a 32 bits Windows version and OS build 19043.906 and Edge version 89.0.774.68

    Hi Alex

    All is working now. I have tested it for a week and no issues. Then yesterday I installed SplashTop so that I can remotely access the machine and since then the edge browser keeps going into "page not responding" mode. Is there a reason for that?

    Hi Alex,

    Originally, the release date for Kiosk on Stable was week of Nov 19. But if that was just security updates, I need to know when the assigned access and setup using settings will work. Otherwise,

     how do I download the Edge Dev version to try that instead? Please let me know. I was okay to wait till this week but if it is now indefinite I can't wait.

    When i set up kiosk, only a blue screen plays, not my url. When i use the start up command, it keeps asking me to log in first! How do i remove the log in page? Please help!

    Kiosk mode can be used with command-line options, where you can define your own story of lockdown.  For the best lockdown experience, we recommend using assigned access with kiosk mode – there’s a preview available with the Windows Insiders release.
