Microsoft Edge keeps making itself the default PDF viewer instead of acrobat

This is a dup thread for one that was started in 2020. Same stuff is still happening. I'm about 5 minutes from uninstalling Edge. If my PC reboots, Edge takes over PDFs. So annoying

    Finally! This solution worked when nothing else did, fingers crossed it stays how I've set it now

    I think I figured this out.

    Go to Settings, Default Apps, Microsoft Edge, and scroll down to where it shows .pdf and Microsoft Edge. Click on that and then choose Adobe Acrobat. It stayed on Adobe each time I opened a PDF doc after that.

    I have tried this and everything else and still no luck. My viewer will not change to anything other than edge! Frustrating

    Hi,

    Here to also say when I try to set it to default it says there was an error and microsoft will now set Bing as the default.

    I never had this problem with it until this last update that I rebooted my computer today for.
