HTML5 can generally be used as an alternative to Adobe Flash. Both include features for playing audio and video within web pages, It can also be used to play some basic HTML5 browser games and integrated vector graphics are possible with both.

    ... it does not work on nhl.com. 

    FWIW, I tried everything I could to make nhl.com video not play, but I couldn't. Every clip plays just as I expect it should, on this bog-standard 9-year-old ASUS laptop. Here's a clip I recorded just to demonstrate: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aofky0_NNFsnmu9xmh5oZ8wOMcinoA?e=PhbrH1 

    • Check that Edge is up to date at ⋯ (Settings and more) > Help and feedback > About ...
    • Make sure you have hardware acceleration enabled at ⋯ (Settings and more) > Settings > System.
    • Visit this site: https://get.webgl.org/webgl2/ to see whether WebGL is working on your machine.
    • In a new tab, type edge://gpu into the address bar and press Enter.

    This will show you a detailed report of your machine's graphics capabilities. Do you notice any important-looking shortcomings in the status section?

    Hi Ed,

    Well, happily, we don't have to do anything because according to Melirix the Microsoft Edge browser already contains the replacement for the Adobe Flash Player.

    yea but it does not work on nhl.com.  ..at least it doesn't on my XPS computer with this win10 abortion.  Give me back XP or win 7 please

    it also happens with Firefox browser, so is not an Edge issue, its more likely a website issue, so nhl developers have to fix their video web player and update it for new technologies.

    Sorry all,

    I believe we're done for in Edge.

    I've only used it to play World Golf Tour and as of today, no use of Microsoft product will load it.  It suggests downloading an app to my phone, which I have done.  I'm over it.
