New Microsoft Edge wont play HDR videos in YouTube

As the title describes, I cannot play/ see HDR YouTube videos - the option is not available any more from the resolution selection.

With previous Edge (prior to 15/01/2020) I could and I could also choose a higher resolution from my screen's native one.

I would like to point out also, that neither Chrome and Firefox provide such option - I really cannot understand why but my issue here is with Edge.

Yes, my screen is HDR capable.

I would highly appreciate any help into solving this matter.

    I had the same issue with my XPS 7590 OLED, after updating and using the new Chromium Edge (the new Microsoft Edge); it's no longer that the "HDR" appears next to the resolution numbers of any hdr video on Youtube. I tried to change the Force color profile from Default to sRGB or HDR10, the "HDR" does appear again. But my screen color while I was watching a HDR content on Youtube actually got worse than when I set it to Default, so I notice that my screen has already had the best color with true HDR if I am not mistaken. It's definitely better than when the "HDR" appeared. I guess HDR already displayed without the word "HDR" next to the resolution numbers. Hope you guys find your way out of this issue.

    P/S: I used Dell Color setting at Cinema while testing it as well.

    I know all about that stuff.  what i have resorted to doing is use the 'beta' chrome for  "sRGB"when i have 'HDR' off'  when i have HDR' on, i use normal chrome, with all defaulted conditions otherwise i get washed out colours .

    I have played around with it and the color are off compared to the old edge browser. You can’t see the detail in the background. It also does not turn up the brightness automatically either.     The one on the right is the new edge and the one on the left is the old edge.

    Thanks you so much. The only thing is to use scRGB linear or HDR10 instead of sRGB otherwise it did not work for me.

    Try this:

    1. in the address bar type in edge://flags/ and press enter
    2. Scroll to find to search for "Force Color Profile"
    3. Click the drop down and select "sRGB"
    4. Click on Restart at the bottom. 

    See if that fixes the problem.
