New Microsoft Edge wont play HDR videos in YouTube

As the title describes, I cannot play/ see HDR YouTube videos - the option is not available any more from the resolution selection.

With previous Edge (prior to 15/01/2020) I could and I could also choose a higher resolution from my screen's native one.

I would like to point out also, that neither Chrome and Firefox provide such option - I really cannot understand why but my issue here is with Edge.

Yes, my screen is HDR capable.

I would highly appreciate any help into solving this matter.

    I tried that and it doesn't work. The app mentions that my display is not HDR-capable.

    I can play true HDR 4K YouTube videos only in MyTube (Beta) 3rd party app. Old (real) Edge was able too but it's no longer available (it's hidden deep inside the system, they cannot remove it because it's a system component).

    Microsoft haven't fix it for a year…… during this time they even removed classic edge,but the new edge still not able to play any HDR content. what we can only do is to unistall the new edge and reinstall the classic one.

    Hope this would help. You need download the correct version of the installation package for your system, and it may be removed by system upgrade.

    hi, yes i had the exact same problem, but since the start of march this year, maybe feb, I have been able to get edge HDR and chrome(before as a quick fix I was using 'beta chrome) , both working for me on my HDR monitor. It seems they have fixed it, but I actually reset my system, because of another situation with the game 'cricket 19' a PC game which had an issue of only starting after a reset. I USED THE KEEP FILES' RESET, not start again from scratch, though you will lose any app u installed on your 'C' drive even if you do choose to 'keep files' . but both chrome and edge seem to be working for me. below I uploaded these pics to show you that HDR is working but
