Anyone using (new) Edge C (GA) & or testing the Edge Insider beta Channels, comments (bad AND good), tips, info to share, observations, suggestions/requests, issues/problems, curiosities, questions, you name it... The floor is yours...

Myself, I have run all available Insider Builds since April.  And, now, running Edge C GA, as well; swapped from HTML Jan. 15th.

I am/have been very impressed with the performance.  Been a bit fun adapting to some things/methods/locations/layouts/structure.  Some NTML features seem missing, BUT, heaps more stuff is coming very soon.  Some 'new' & different items are quite cool.  It has been interesting as an Insider.  And it will be interesting for people using & discovering THIS Edge.  It is, well, IMHO, will be THE outstanding browser.  I, strongly urge & encourage Folks to adopt it. Be prepared, though... it's very fast ��

Let's see what more detail & specifics y'all may have, will have to add here...

Anxious for your remarks, look forward to the input that can be share to everyone's benefit, of course.

    Y'all may find this interesting.  GA when @ 79 seemed to have lost the Feedback icon; wasn't showing on the toolbar. Since updating to 80 it is back.  Yet, on Insider Build 19559 (2004) it is/was not there, on the toolbar, by default... had to make it show there, again.  Show or Hide is a Rt Clk after hitting ? Help & FeedbackCheers,Drew

    Yes & I realise I had shown both Beat & GA with the same version # which, they are, now; GA was 79 & Beta 80.

    That switch has been in the test Channels, Canary & Dev for a while.  (Another example) It shows that the cool things Edge Insiders have seen for a while DO end up in GA.

    Personally, I use & recommend Strict in which case that switch goes On 'automatically' or by default.

    As for the speed, it  may seem so... the updates can affect features and, also, performance aspects.  Certainly, it was impressive when we started in April and that has continued to impress.  And fast as the betas seemed to be or are, from myself, the GA is even quicker than the beta Channels. That was blatantly noticeable.  But, yes, probably the single most outstanding part to Edge C is its performance, solid & very rapid; could see it had a hell of a pace right from the onset in April.

    BTW, I am quite sure we can expect to see Edge C GA pushed out via WU by or before the end of February.

    Hello Drew,

            I saw the update (Version 80.0.361.48 Official Build 64-bit) to Edge C GA yesterday, and was hoping others noticed it as well. I see we have a New Switch in the settings that looks like this :

       

    It seams to be "Off" by default. also under "Cast Media To device" it now shows your devices properly.

    And is it just me!.. but this browser just keeps getting faster and faster with each update 😁

    More Fun with Flags:

    Right now, with latest Builds, versions, updates, thought I'd share this...

    Canary no longer needs flags for Collections NOR Dark*.  Canary is 82 'flight'

    Dev no longer needs a flag for Collections, but, does, still, for Dark.  Dev is 81

    Beta needs a flag for Dark.  It does not (even) have a flag for Collections.  Beta is 80.0.361.48

    Edge GA is, also, 80.0.361.48 & same flag scenario as Beta.

    Also, Canary, now, allows/offers sync across all devices.

    Anyway it shows a little of what I was saying earlier about the 'flow' or how things find their way from flags in Canary to no flag to actually, being in a Channel further along, again, without a flag, at some point in time, without the flag there, either.  Heaps of good things WILL end up in GA in due course is the other caveat here.  GA will update by the end of February and every 6 weeks. 

    *Oh & for anyone wondering this means Dark IS going to be (available) in GA by default, eventually.

    You're welcome, Kevin, although, not sure how much help I, actually, was LOL.  And, very glad to hear your good news.  Caveat or moral is there is oft a (good) reason some things have their default settings and oft we don't leave well enough alone.

    I told you so 😄 Yes, it IS fast.  I did have that right, saying Edge C is not fundamentally "really buggy" and something else was afoot to account for what you HAD (past tense).

    Nice, you sorted it so you can enjoy it.

    Norton may not have been causing the issue you WERE seeing; it maybe was a possibility was what I suggested (I thought). Regardless. There are lots of password managers available & I will, still, specifically & certainly, discourage use of Norton or other unnecessary 3rd party securities, added to Win10.

    Anyway, if I offer value, now for you or anytime for anyone, that is terrific; my pleasure.
