(New) Edge C - Step Right Up & Discuss

I'll go as far to suggest it is, also, superior to other browsers, besides Edge HTML.

Yes, I have had Dark in the OS 'forever'.  It is more pleasant the bright white (I'm old, too, but, have never been a fan of harsh brightness.)  It's great to have consistency (in appearance), as well, across the OS including, the web pages.

Quite expect Dark to not need its flag, soon due to its popularity & the amount to which, it has been requested.  I'm, also, a Bing Insider.  Dark for it has been implemented for Mobile and will start rolling out sometime in the near future.  For PCs et al, it's coming someday, too.

A feature I feel is note-worthy is Strict Tracking Prevention.  And there is a good chance, once people have Collections they will end up liking & using that a lot.  But, at least, GA has Share... we went a while as Insiders without that.

And one handy/helpful extension I do use is Scroll button(s). (Have tried various extensions, yet, actually, use VERY few )

           I agree  with you totally. The New Edge Chromium Browser is Superior over its predecessor. I particularity  Like the speed and stability, It's Very fast. I have been a beta tester for the Browser for some time now also and really enjoy everything about it. I see by your image in your reply that you are also using the Flag to set your browser to force "All Web Sites to dark". This is one of my favorite Features. It sure helps my old eyes 😎

I agree with you regarding the logo.  Does speak to the surfing the web idea & has a nice modern artistic flare.  Personally, I like it just fine & it's an ok departure from the past.

I think I was trying to be 'clever' with the heading; may have failed at that 😏 But, you may have a point about using more standard jargon.  We'll see, if garners little activity or not... Update: I've tried a change, after all, as you see.

I am not sure I see your thought about Tips.  There IS text with each and click on one usually gives even more depth & detail plus, there are the categories to explore lower down

There are many people mentioning Set aside, Reading List & a couple of other things. There are 3 things I can say to this... (1) the Team hears & knows what's said & that people what certain items (2) the IS heaps of stuff coming in the next & futures updates that will make Folks smile and (3) the is something called Collections that you do not, YET, see in GA.  There may be a possibility that the thinking is Collections will handle things, instead (maybe).

You mention Reading List showing & Mobile devices.  That is due to, still, being Edge HTML, there.  If you put Edge C on the Samsung, it will not have Reading List.  I am very familiar with the 950.  I had 2 Lumias & I, still, have a Windows Mobile. Although, Edge C runs on iOS & Android, there are no plans for it to be supported on Windows phones.

I did go check & no, seems it is not in neon lights on the DL page that one replaces the other.  However, one can run the beta Channels along side Edge HTML.  Though, bear in mind, currently, one can go grab Edge C, by choice, NOW, "manually", as opposed to being pushed out via WU which, is happening in the near future.  Also, only ex-Edge HTML Users see a comparison or things missing.  To all others, it's brand new & they don't know of those things to think they are missing, they have no comparison to HTML. The beta Channels have Collections, GA will soon with its updates... they come every 6 weeks.

One cannot ignore the performance of Edge C.  It is very stable & crikey, it's fast.  Bonus, it looks nice, too & it's quite easy & intuitive to use.

This is a great idea! However, so that you can get the responses you are looking to achieve, maybe you could re-word your question heading, eg ...... instead of Step Right Up, how about User Feedback Here Plz?

As for me, I love the new LOGO. As an Aussie, where the culture has a lot to do with surfing, since we are an island nation and there's great surfing on some of our beaches, to me the logo looks like a sea wave and, to me, represents Surfing the Web. Whoever designed it is very clued in and clever.

TIPS -- I have already provided feedback via the Edge browser that this item on its own webpage is still incomplete. By that I mean that one clicks onto a Tip, and all there is is a lovely graphic, which, here again, are beautifully designed, but there is no Tip! LOL. I'm sure they'll do something about putting information behind each graphic eventually, I hope!

Yes, there are still a lot of missing bits, especially those things we have come to rely on and use frequently, such as the Reading List in Favorites and the Set Tabs Aside feature in the address bar. I hope they will be restored. However, I also use my Windows phone (using Edge Legacy) and Samsung Galaxy using the Microsoft Launcher, and I notice that the Reading List is available on both those devices. I mainly use the Reading List via my Lumia950 and will not upgrade to the new Edge until such time as that feature is reinstalled.

One other bit of feedback I've provided has to do with going to the new Edge Downloads page, and where it says Try it!, there should also be a comment telling you that this new Edge will override the old one, and not sit beside the Legacy version. At least this will help you decide whether or not you are willing to try it! Otherwise, maybe, someone could do something about creating the Legacy version that installs at the same time as one downloads the new Edge. Much like when one upgrades to a new version of Windows.

Also, is there a new Edge UserVoice forum, for feature suggestions?

Otherwise, I'm loving it! Thanks Microsoft engineers. You rock!
