(New) Edge C - Step Right Up & Discuss

Anyone using (new) Edge C (GA) & or testing the Edge Insider beta Channels, comments (bad AND good), tips, info to share, observations, suggestions/requests, issues/problems, curiosities, questions, you name it... The floor is yours...

Myself, I have run all available Insider Builds since April.  And, now, running Edge C GA, as well; swapped from HTML Jan. 15th.

I am/have been very impressed with the performance.  Been a bit fun adapting to some things/methods/locations/layouts/structure.  Some NTML features seem missing, BUT, heaps more stuff is coming very soon.  Some 'new' & different items are quite cool.  It has been interesting as an Insider.  And it will be interesting for people using & discovering THIS Edge.  It is, well, IMHO, will be THE outstanding browser.  I, strongly urge & encourage Folks to adopt it. Be prepared, though... it's very fast ��

Let's see what more detail & specifics y'all may have, will have to add here...

Anxious for your remarks, look forward to the input that can be share to everyone's benefit, of course.

    My thought exactly 😊 I for one really got use to the Dark Mode and don't want to give it up.  Thanks Drew for the heads up.

    Yes, would be basically a "not ready" thing.  It's, also, the nature of flag items.  They ARE "experimental" & can come & go, be here or there (Channels), they are works in progress.

    And, in that same vein, to clarify...

    It wasn't about Immersive reader needing a flag.  It was about certain tools being in it or not.  Without a flag being needed for it, Immersive reader in Dev has 4 tools.  In the other 2 betas & the GA, it has 3 tools.  Nor, currently, is there (even) a flag for this 4th tool in Beta or GA.

    Things do not show everywhere simultaneously.  They may be seen one place for & while & then, later find their way to GA, maybe... depending on results & feedback in the betas or while as flag items.

    May have had to work out a kink or 2, but, no biggie, we, still, know Dark is coming, very, soon. Another update or 2 maybe & likely will drop its flag (for good).

    Here's a good one for you whilst we're on such things... (this should have been at the onset) The Share icon can, now (finally), be on the toolbar where it belongs not, buried/hidden in the ellipsis.  This is without a flag, but,with a new toggle switch, BUT, currently, ONLY in Canary.

    Hi Drew,

           Sorry to hear that it reverted back to needing a flag. However!... the "Immersive Reader" you mentioned in a earlier post  still works perfectly with no flag.  It's possible that they just decided that it was too early to release the "Force Dark Mode To All Web Sites" to the GA, Not Sure though 🤔

    Ok, this is seemingly a wee bit strange... Dark worked, after a particular update, at 1st & for a while... then, I discovered, it was needing the flag, again.  It, for me, did work without the flag, but, only briefly... shortly thereafter I had to re-enable it.  So, yes, still, needs it.  I have no explanation for what I had, but, it did not last (long).

    In the same vein... 

    They finally put Share on the  toolbar, but, only in Canary. Dev has Reading preferences in Immersive reader, but, it is nowhere else. And, Beta & GA are, still, awaiting Collections; still, don't even have a flag for it, (yet) there.

    Insider Builds, Edge or Windows 10 can be such a tease sometimes... one cannot help but be anxious for things (there) to be in Edge GA or mainstream Win10.

    Example: Insiders have a slew of REALLY funky new icons as of today.  I rest my case.

    Yes, it's, really, no biggie.  Another occasion of  something not seen by all Users simultaneously, not the 1st and probably not the last, if history... 😉

    Then, there is it being on 2 18363s... as well, it is different between (my) 18363 (no flag) & a vm of 19564.  The IB needs the Dark flag 🤔.
