"Resolving Host" is making the new Microsoft Edge unusable.

Updated to new version of Edge a couple weeks ago and am looking for a way to 'downgrade' to the old version... or recommendations for a non-chromium based, secure browser.

Why?  Because the 'Resolving Host' delay that Edge is now performing on just about EVERY web page is driving me nuts.  Delays page loading by 2 - 10 seconds on EVERY PAGE.  How is that better?

I've tried clearing Edge's cache, Windows cache, changing dns to 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 and to the two IP's specified by my ISP (in addition to relying on my router's handling of DNS), rebooting modem+router/PC.  Nothing has helped.  

Any other suggestions?  Perhaps point me down a better path?

    I've seen and read so many items that now that seemingly resolve the issue and unfortunately, so far no have worked lastingly.   Most seem to last 24 hours which is probably more attributed to me restarting the PC to implement the so called fix.   It is almost literally 24 hours to the minute.

    I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, removing proxy settings, turning off IPV6 on the network and the next is to untick the check on certificate mismatch.   It's really, really frustrating as I have three other PC's on the exact same network and neither of them exhibit the problem which means it has to be within the confines of the PC, not external like routers etc.

    I agree, very frustrating.  I had the resolving problem, got sick of it and went back to a restore point, used the EDGEUPDATE BLOCKING TOOL to stop the update next time (didn't work btw).  Edge got updated again, this time no issues, for at least 2 weeks, surface pro on 7/24 no reboots restarts.  Edge updated to a newer version yesterday, now this pathetic software is again slow, sometimes timing out, then resolving the host right after the screen saying something like can't find host.  Nslookup from DOS works fine (but it could be a matter of timing).  I am now running wire shark to see if I can see actual issues with DNS, but I would be willing to bet that is not the issue.

    I was finally able to resolve this issue. On another site i saw a reference to Malwarebytes being the culprit.  So I shut off Malwarebytes Web Protection and my browser speed returned to normal, maybe even faster.

    Brian, I did the same just now and it works. We'll see for how long because someone last week gave me directions and it worked but 2-3 days later it didn't.

    So thank you very much for this recommendation!!!

    Does anyone get to talk to a real person at Msoft to determine what the hell they are doing about this issue? Not much from what I can tell as I just cannot believe they haven't communicated with us users about this issue.

    Thank you for the tip on how to resolve the "Resolving Host" problem with Microsoft Edge by making a change in Malwarebytes settings. It worked....for now. Not sure why Microsoft doesn't answer with either fixing the bug or giving us these answers. Why do browser users have to find the answer????
