"Resolving Host" is making the new Microsoft Edge unusable.

Updated to new version of Edge a couple weeks ago and am looking for a way to 'downgrade' to the old version... or recommendations for a non-chromium based, secure browser.

Why?  Because the 'Resolving Host' delay that Edge is now performing on just about EVERY web page is driving me nuts.  Delays page loading by 2 - 10 seconds on EVERY PAGE.  How is that better?

I've tried clearing Edge's cache, Windows cache, changing dns to 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 and to the two IP's specified by my ISP (in addition to relying on my router's handling of DNS), rebooting modem+router/PC.  Nothing has helped.  

Any other suggestions?  Perhaps point me down a better path?

    Thanks Gareth.  I thought about a manual DNS entry but I use a ISP provided router from Comcast and it doesn't appear to be something I can edit.  Interestingly there are 2 other Win 10, Chrome browser pcs in the house and they do not experience the same "resolving host".  I would assume their setup would work just as well on Edge 2.0 or Firefox.  All 3 pcs also have the same Avast and Malwarebytes installed. 

    There must be something unique about my particular setup that these other 2 pcs don't have in common.

    I was having this issue and managed to resolve it by changing the DNS settings on my router to use OpenDNS instead of the Vodafone ones. It solved the problem on my PC and all my other devices sped up too.

    Firefox may be solving this issue by using DNS over HTTPS but I’m not sure if that is enabled by default.

    Obviously the downside of this is that you lose the ISP adult site blocking but you can get that with OpenDNS if you want.

    @Winter Coder .   I am really happy with Firefox after about a months use. No slowdown, has all the features I need and I can't think of any reason to go back to Edge 2.0 or Chrome.

    Personally I think both the Corona Virus and Chromium's 'Resolving Host' issues are related..... all of your page requests are being sent to a government supercomputer tracking your every electronic move, as they use the virus to hasten the one-government world order.  

    How's that for a conspiracy theory?

    Or... It could just be that it's just Chromium's fault.   You choose.

    Its been a few days and Firefox runs like a dream, seems to have better security built-in too.

    No one seems to know how to resolve(LOL) my and many others "resolving host" issue so I'll stick with Firefox
