"Resolving Host" is making the new Microsoft Edge unusable.

Updated to new version of Edge a couple weeks ago and am looking for a way to 'downgrade' to the old version... or recommendations for a non-chromium based, secure browser.

Why?  Because the 'Resolving Host' delay that Edge is now performing on just about EVERY web page is driving me nuts.  Delays page loading by 2 - 10 seconds on EVERY PAGE.  How is that better?

I've tried clearing Edge's cache, Windows cache, changing dns to 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 and to the two IP's specified by my ISP (in addition to relying on my router's handling of DNS), rebooting modem+router/PC.  Nothing has helped.  

Any other suggestions?  Perhaps point me down a better path?

    I saw some earlier replies saying that the latest version of MalwareBytes (MAB) fixed the issue for some.  Unfortunately for me, the moment I re-installed MAB again (with latest updates) these "resolving host" issues start creeping back up.  For me I have to remove MAB to make sure it doesn't happen.

    I have the same weird issue!

    This happened lately on my PC. Other PCs in the network with similar setup does not have this problenm.

    I have changed DNS settings, antivirus software etc. Nothing helps, it is really weird.

    It is not from the internet provider, because once host is resolved packages flow fast also as I said other computers in the network does not experience such issue and when I go other place I still have the problem.

    I have the same issue.   I have three home PC's on the same network (wired) going through the same router/config.   Two work fine with Edge, no issues with page loading.   The other is a nightmare.  It takes for ever to load a page (and it's the faster computer

    • I7) it can Take 1-2 minutes and just see "Resolving Host" in the bottom left hand side of the screen.    I've tried reinstalling edge, clearing out the directory from AppData/Local/Packages.    This has a temporary effect for about 24 hours when things load fine, but then, it goes back to being very slow.   Really don't understand what the problem is but it is make Edge unusable.

    It appears that it is the latest Version that has caused this problem as it was absolutely fine, and pretty impressive, before! What a shame and a great pity that Microsoft appear unable to acknowledge the problem.

    I tried this some time ago in response to a prior post. It worked

    initially, but I still have the "resolving host" problem, albeit

    perhaps not quite as often as I did before. Still have to reboot

    at least every 2-3 days.

    MSFT threatened to "upgrade" edge on another machine 

    yesterday, I responded that I don't want the "upgrade"

    Disabling smart screen did not resolve the issue for me.... and doing so puts your system at risk. I would advise against it.
