WHY am I being FORCED to deal with Microsoft edge?

I want a way to uninstall Edge.

Have you checked your Notification & Actions settings for Windows?

Edge is the default browser for Windows which there has to be at least one. Trying to remove it is likely going to cause more issues down the road that you think it will solve in the short term.

I dont know if you did this already but I did a system restore, then searched my pc for services.msc located windows update and disabled it.

3. Open regedit.and went to 4.HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WaaSMedicSvc
4. Clicked start (dword) and changed the value to 4

6 also went to USOSRV and  wuauserv and changed the start sword to 4

Now, every two days edge will try to reinstall. so the 1st thing to do  When When you turn on the computer is disable everything again. You do this before it is at start so I usually check 1st thing after logging on. I also control alt delete and end task for windows update in the task manager.

  That being said I have since updated edge on my own I did not allow the manager to do it... here at the reason I did it is because I figured out how to import all of my cookies, favorites in from edge legacy..

Does the Microsoft troll who replied to this email realize how ignorant the reply sounds?  No one that I know that bought a computer with an OS installed expected that they would be repeatedly forced to use a browser they do not want.  A browser is independent of an OS and integrating them does not change the fact that they are separate issues and there are other browsers.  I want to use Firefox or Brave.  I don't want to give MS my information.  I should be able to uninstall or disable it ONCE and not have it ever reappear.  Saying that it is ok because I agreed to it in the license agreement does  not play because I HAVE NO CHOICE TO AGREE TO A LICENSE AGREEMENT IN ORDER TO USE MY COMPUTERS.  It is not a choice.  It is time for a massive class action lawsuit against MS to stop this behavior.

This is insane. I woke up, turned my pc on and see that while my computer updated Microsoft sneakily installed a new version of edge. The icing on the cake, however, is that my system's screen was commandeered by an unclosable presentation forcing me to watch a slow and meticulous explanation of all of the changes you've made to my system that I never asked for and want nothing to do with.

This behavior is doing the opposite of what your company wants to happen. These forceful tactics do not make anyone want to use your service and immediately make you a nuisance and enemy to the user. It's as if you as a company feel your users are going to be too stupid to notice this change or too lazy to go back to using their original browser and just passively accept the changes you've made. We're not cattle. We make our own decisions. 

So here I am, taking up my time and energy trying to change things BACK to the way I had them, on the computer I pay a lot of money to own and maintain.

Microsoft is not forcing anything. You gave them permission to install Edge or any other updates when you agreed to the Terms and Conditions when you installed Windows 10.  Microsoft granted you the right to install and use Windows 10 but, they kept ownership of Windows 10 and the to determine what features would be installed, When, and by what method.

So a person who tell you the truth makes them a troll, then what do we call someone who is repeatedly told various ways to try to fix their issues with Edge and don't even try?

It's too bad you aren't aware that the browser is integrated into the O/S. Android, MacOS, iOS, and Windows operating systems. There has to be at least one.

If you don't want to give Microsoft information then Windows isn't for you. Apple will be happy to take your information, or even Google. About your only choice left is some of the Linux operating systems. But be warry, even some of them gather information about you.

And of course you have a choice at accepting or not accepting an agreement so that won't wash. You purchased or was given a Windows computer. Of course you will have to accept the terms. That's the way it has been for a very long time so you can't use that excuse.

You of course are welcome to try a suit against Microsoft, but in the meantime you have to accept what is legitimate for companies to do today, not some "I wish" therefor it is real.
