WHY am I being FORCED to deal with Microsoft edge?

This is insane. I woke up, turned my pc on and see that while my computer updated Microsoft sneakily installed a new version of edge. The icing on the cake, however, is that my system's screen was commandeered by an unclosable presentation forcing me to watch a slow and meticulous explanation of all of the changes you've made to my system that I never asked for and want nothing to do with.

This behavior is doing the opposite of what your company wants to happen. These forceful tactics do not make anyone want to use your service and immediately make you a nuisance and enemy to the user. It's as if you as a company feel your users are going to be too stupid to notice this change or too lazy to go back to using their original browser and just passively accept the changes you've made. We're not cattle. We make our own decisions. 

So here I am, taking up my time and energy trying to change things BACK to the way I had them, on the computer I pay a lot of money to own and maintain.

    You are either missing the point or intentionally obfuscating the issue, which plainly put is that (a) up until the last month it has been possible to uninstall Microsoft's browser and it is no longer possible to do so; (b) Edge is intrusive in a way that other browsers are not by popping up all the time with unwanted commercials for edge and an unwanted screen the purpose of which escapes me but it is as annoying as hell, and there is no "never show this again" option; (c) for those with limited SSD space on smaller drives, when another browser is preferred it wastes space that could be put to better use.  In the browser wars MS lost and like Trump is now trying unfair (and probably illegal) tactics to win (remember the litigation years ago that forced MS to remove Media Player from the OS?).  Time for another class action suit!

    If anyone is missing the point, it is you. SolarEcipseReturns is right on, and I am quite sure if a vote was taken a vast majority of users would agree, but most are to busy getting their work done to reply.

    a) And Microsoft has changed that, rightfully so

    b) I have set my default browser to not be Edge and receive none of those, so what about your setup is having them show up? Check the Notification settings as I've mention many times to others

    c) That's your own issue if you didn't purchase a drive that was large enough to handle your O/S, it's built in software, and the software you want to install. I would never ever recommend someone get a device with less than 512 GB.

    I don't play politics so bringing that up pretty much discredits anything you just said as it is immaterial.

    Back then the world was a different place with that class action law suit. Today, the world is connected to the internet and an O/S is got to have a default browser that can't be uninstalled (Microsoft has Edge, Apple has Safari, Google has Chrome) so that you can download your favorite browser and make it the default. I have, why can't you?

    I use Edge for some things because a Microsoft browser works better with Microsoft products. I use a different browser for everything else.
