WHY am I being FORCED to deal with Microsoft edge?

This is insane. I woke up, turned my pc on and see that while my computer updated Microsoft sneakily installed a new version of edge. The icing on the cake, however, is that my system's screen was commandeered by an unclosable presentation forcing me to watch a slow and meticulous explanation of all of the changes you've made to my system that I never asked for and want nothing to do with.

This behavior is doing the opposite of what your company wants to happen. These forceful tactics do not make anyone want to use your service and immediately make you a nuisance and enemy to the user. It's as if you as a company feel your users are going to be too stupid to notice this change or too lazy to go back to using their original browser and just passively accept the changes you've made. We're not cattle. We make our own decisions. 

So here I am, taking up my time and energy trying to change things BACK to the way I had them, on the computer I pay a lot of money to own and maintain.

    I dont know if you did this already but I did a system restore, then searched my pc for services.msc located windows update and disabled it.

    1. Disabled Windows update medical service
    2. Open regedit.and went to 4.HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WaaSMedicSvc
    3. Clicked start (dword) and changed the value to 4

    6 also went to USOSRV and  wuauserv and changed the start sword to 4

    Now, every two days edge will try to reinstall. so the 1st thing to do  When When you turn on the computer is disable everything again. You do this before it is at start so I usually check 1st thing after logging on. I also control alt delete and end task for windows update in the task manager.

      That being said I have since updated edge on my own I did not allow the manager to do it... here at the reason I did it is because I figured out how to import all of my cookies, favorites in from edge legacy..

    I want a way to uninstall Edge.

    Have you checked your Notification & Actions settings for Windows?

    Edge is the default browser for Windows which there has to be at least one. Trying to remove it is likely going to cause more issues down the road that you think it will solve in the short term.

    What Solae Eclipse Returns is saying is true Most-not all- of these issues could be avoided if people followed these and other safe computing habits. And above all, make sure you have a current up-to-date backup. Anyone that doesn't is playing Russian Roulette.

    Since that is not the experience of the vast majority of users what have you done to your system or have running on your system that interferes with Edge?

    • Run Registry Cleaners by chance?
    • Use Utility programs that modify how Windows works?
    • Use anti-virus/anti-malware products that aren't Microsoft's?
    • Etc.

    Once you figure out what you are doing, then likely that is the cause. If you can't then probably the last remaining step is to do a factory reset of Windows and don't install all your software, just the absolute minimum that you need for your work. Also be sure all updates happen.

    A lot of assumptions there.  I use NO utility programs, no registry cleaners, no products other than Defender.  You are just plain uninformed.  I use Chrome and Brave.  I do not want Edge and have done what I can to keep it from running.  What has been described by others is my experience too.  Edge came back.  It keeps coming back with an intrusive "don't you want to make Edge your browser?" screen.  The fact is 80 percent of users prefer Chrome, including me.  Sorry Edge, you just don't make the sale by forcing it on me.  I am technically competent.  Your insulting "once you figure out what you are doing..." is condescending, uninformed and arrogant.  I want a way to uninstall Edge.
