Profile picture in new Microsoft Edge won't update

The new Microsoft Edge won't update my profile picture; it is still using an old one.

Steps that I have taken:

1.  I have updated the picture twice online in my Microsoft account.

2.  I have deleted the old picture from both of my Windows 10 systems.

3.  I have deleted my Edge profile several times.

4.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled Edge.

Nothing that I have done seems to help. Would like to know if this is a bug or something else is going on.

    That is never going to work for me. I have 3 Outlook/Live accounts, one of which is moribund & came with the computer. One cannot log into 2 at the same time (unless one switches to in-private browsing, or perhaps opens a different browser). Mercifully, Edge can open under one account and I can still open another Outlook account.  I don't think one has to log into an account to use Edge; it's just one more trick to make it easier to track our behaviour, but that's another subject. 

    What bothers me is logging into an Outlook account and sometimes seeing the picture from another account.  Since the picture/icon is what tells me immediately which account I'm using, this is a real problem.  It has improved recently though. They may have tweaked it. Sometimes the wrong picture will show momentarily until I click on it.

    The Edge account seems to be synced with Windows account.

    I opened Windows Settings->Accounts->Email & accounts. Remove the account there and the account showed error in Edge. Then sign again in Edge, the picture is updated correctly.

    That explains a lot. My profile picture appeared in Edge after I updated to Windows 10 Version 2004. So it must be synced with our Windows accounts.

    Do you have to do something after this, because I successfully changed the picture file, but my old picture is still showing up?

    Yesterday I updated my Profile Picture for my numerous accounts, and while mainly a painless process I encountered this same issue on my instance of Edge. MSA profile pictures system is all over the place since I had to manually set it into my online account, my Windows laptop and Skype in order for it to be the same, sadly the problem persists on Microsoft Edge (Chromium) where no matter what I've tried to do, the profile pic shown is the old one.

    This is so frustrating since it should be something that just work, it does with Google Chrome I'm not ashamed to say.
