Profile picture in new Microsoft Edge won't update

The new Microsoft Edge won't update my profile picture; it is still using an old one.

Steps that I have taken:

1.  I have updated the picture twice online in my Microsoft account.

2.  I have deleted the old picture from both of my Windows 10 systems.

3.  I have deleted my Edge profile several times.

4.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled Edge.

Nothing that I have done seems to help. Would like to know if this is a bug or something else is going on.

Interesting aside - I hadn't gotten around to installing the new Edge on my laptop until yesterday, after I had changed my profile pic. When it installed, it pulled the new picture. This makes me wonder if there isn't a hidden folder or some code somewhere on the local machine that holds onto the old picture for some reason. Every other instance locally and online that uses my Microsoft profile is showing the new picture.

To be or not

I  had the same problem and discovered that I was signing in with a LOCAL account and not my MICROSOFT Account.   I signed out  of edge and then signed clicked to sign back in. It prompted me for  which account I wanted to sign n with. Choose Microsoft ACCOUNT

Nothing in this thread has helped me at all. I have signed out & signed in, uninstalled & reinstalled, and even placed a .png picture in the C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default folder. And absolutely nothing has worked at all. The profile picture is still blank in New Edge. I even re-uploaded the same picture to my Microsoft Account profile multiple times. The Profile Picture updates across all Microsoft websites, but not in New Edge.

I have 3 Outlook/Live accounts, one of which came with a Windows 10 computer. I deleted it from the Accounts under Permissions. Each one has a different avatar or picture. Microsoft is completely confused by this. Sometimes I'd be in mail for one account and see the picture for another account that was not logged in. Some MS things came up with the old computer linked account even though I was logged in with a different account. It is hopeless. I assume that  MS's failure to update may be affected by where you changed your profile (in Mail? In Accounts? Somewhere else?), because obviously they are saving this info in many different places that even they cannot keep track of.
