How to make links open in a new tab in Edge Chromium

Hi, does anyone know how to make links clicked open in a new tab, rather than in the existing tab, in the new Microsoft Edge Chromium, please?

    It works on some sites and sometimes doesn't work on other sites.

    I haven't seen anyone mention this, so I'll throw it out there. Has anyone tried clicking on the link using the middle button on their mouse? This is what I do using the Chrome browser but no harm in trying to see if it may work in Edge!

    Yes, this works in Edge too. Allowing us to set our preferred default behavior would be optimal, but this is a good tip/workaround for anyone using a mouse with middle-click capability.
