How to make links open in a new tab in Edge Chromium

Hi, does anyone know how to make links clicked open in a new tab, rather than in the existing tab, in the new Microsoft Edge Chromium, please?

    Thank you.  The website owner must have changed something then.  Because I frequently download from this website and until I got this new version of Edge, if I clicked on a link, it automatically opened in a new tab.  Now it opens in the existing window.  Anyway, at least I know now how I can manually make it open in a new tab, so thank you.

    I think that the original poster meant "how do I get every link I click on, including, e.g., from an email message or another application, to open a new tab in Ege, as opposed to creating a new Edge window?".  The Ctrl-leftclick workaround doesn't work in these situations.

    I have the same question, right now Edge keeps opening new windows, which I personally find annoying -- indeed it is the main reason I am still using Firefox, which lets me do what I have described.

    I am a seasoned Windows expert with almost a decade in usage and support experience and hope to resolve your problems quickly.

    Theres two quick options:

    Either Ctrl + Leftclick or rightclick then select "open link in new tab".

    I have the same question also, and this answer does not answer it.

    I want to Left-click on a search link and open it on a NEW TAB Always.

    I don't want to Right-click or CTRL-LeftClick on the link which I forget most of the time.

    IS THERE A WAY TO DO IT AUTOMATICALLY? 

    That is the way (Left-Click) Chrome and most browsers, I have used, do it. That is the logical way at least when working on a search.

    I think it is pretty safe to say that the answer to that question is NO.

    it is a very simple feature that browsers like Firefox have and that is the main reason why I am not switching to Microsoft Edge, but every time I see that question asked the same bogus answer is given, from someone who either doesn't understand the question, or more likely wants to dodge it.

    but it is okay, Firefox is a great browser, no need to switch to Microsoft Edge.

    I'm looking for this same answer:  I want it to be the default that when I click a link, it automatically opens that link in a new tab, not overwrite the current tab.  Does this new Chromium Edge have that setting?
