How to make links open in a new tab in Edge Chromium

Hi, does anyone know how to make links clicked open in a new tab, rather than in the existing tab, in the new Microsoft Edge Chromium, please?

    Hello,

    I want to find out where the setting to force Edge-Chromium to open pages in a new tab. It seem the replies are done manually.

    Do a search for "edge links open page in new tab" or something similar and you will see a new option at the top of your search results (when using Bing). You can use this option to turn this feature on or off.

    I found that holding the Shift key while pressing the middle mouse button (or wheel) will open the link in a new tab.

    Yeah, I know, still not as good as having a setting.

    Clicking my middle mouse button opens a new tab, but I still have to manually switch to it.

    Closest workaround I've found is to either:

    1. use the middle mouse button

    or

    1. set trackpad/touchpad to use 3 or 4 finger tap as middle mouse button

    Then you just get in the habit of clicking links using a 3 finger tap, or your middle mouse button.

    Opens links in a new tab every time.

    Still wish there was a default for normal left click to do it though.
