How to make links open in a new tab in Edge Chromium

Hi, does anyone know how to make links clicked open in a new tab, rather than in the existing tab, in the new Microsoft Edge Chromium, please?

Hello.  Yes, that places the chosen link into a new tab, but the user still has to manually select the new tab in order to move from existing tab to new tab.  Firefox is able to automatically switch the user over to the new tab after clicking on the chosen link with no problems whatsoever.  That is what I've bee looking for in Edge.

I feel the same way.  For someone who claims: "I am a seasoned Windows expert with almost a decade in usage and support experience and hope to resolve your problems quickly", that is an empty response.  Either tell us how to fix it or admit you don't know how to.  My suspicion is it's somehow related to a security feature of Edge, but that's just a guess on my part.  Why else wouldn't they want to offer the same feature Firefox has and keep stonewalling?  I too, would have considered switching to Microsoft Edge, but this is a deal breaker for me.  Plain and simple:  Why else would you click a link "open in new tab", unless you meant to immediately go to it?  Oh, I get it...two clicks is better than one!  (sarcasm)

sorry - not using google stuff on my Edge internet.  not even sure how - I'm tech-challenged folks.  I found it easier to just RETRAIN myself to right click my mouse and hit the "open in a new tab" option on the drop down menu.  if Edge ever figures out how to do this simple task that we can make into a  default task, I'd like to know -but then I have to retrain myself to stop right clicking the mouse!  LOL

Why not open a link in a new tab automatic as in google. You have one I have used "CTRL+a Click on link" Please use it automatic .

Thank you.  The website owner must have changed something then.  Because I frequently download from this website and until I got this new version of Edge, if I clicked on a link, it automatically opened in a new tab.  Now it opens in the existing window.  Anyway, at least I know now how I can manually make it open in a new tab, so thank you.
