How do I set Edge to open links in a new tab automatically?

In IE, it was possible under Settings>General>Tabs: When a pop-up is encountered: (select) Always open pop-ups in a new tab.
The above applied to links or whatever to open in new tab beside the existing tab (as opposed to a new seperate window).

Why can I not find anywhere where this setting is in Edge that I can set it to open links and pop-ups in a new tab?

Or perhaps I'm looking for something that no longer exists.

(based on other responses, this is nothing to do with Bing or using Bing)

Try below.

  1. Open Edge – 3 dots located top right corner – Settings – Default browser – Internet Options – General Tab – Tabs
  2. Under Open links from other programs in: Make sure a check mark is on “A new tab in the current window”
  3. Click “Ok” to save.

    If you have a mouse wheel, click that instead of the primary button.

    As usual, microsoft has once again decided to treat all users like children and remove functionality that many of us used daily and for ease. There is now less control over how Windows works; it's as if someone, somewhere has decided to patronise all users for being not as clever as they are and removed all the control we used to have to make Windows worked the way we wanted it to work for our own use.

    Middle click is mouse scroll for most people. Control click doesn't work on some links. For instance on digikey if you click 'view similiar" button it navigates away from the page, I can no longer view the previous product to compare the simliar one. Fix this.

    Larry,

    Thanks for the suggestion but is not working for me on the Edge browser. This setting might only apply to IE which I can not use per corp restrictions.

    CTRL+ click is the only option that works for me as I have a trackball mouse.
