My Microsoft Edge browser keeps freezing up. I have tried all the suggested solutions with no success. I like the design and functionality offered by Edge, but will change to Firefox until I get a notice that Microsoft has fixed the problem with Edge freeze ups.

I noticed this recently with only my work computer. If I visit literally any website that has ads - say to research tax law analysis on literally any other website besides the IRS, it'll freeze if I let all of the ads load. Weirdly enough it doesn't happen on personal computers. However, on two company laptops, it's consistently happened. I have no solution to this yet besides only visiting sites without ads on the side bars.
Mine locks up immediately and task manager shows 100% usage. I've been using google chrome for almost a year now. I cry it once in awhile and I have the same problem.
This Edge touchpad and touchscreen freeze issue is happening for like than a year now. We tried everything and we have sent countless of feedback and it keeps getting ignored. It started happening around the time that the Edge team made scrolling changes to Chromium, and it seems to affects all Chromium browsers on Windows now.
I can consistently reproduce the issue. With a touchscreen or touchpad, tap a site on the New Tab Page, and immediately begin scrolling down and up quickly a few times.
See the comments on this recent reddit thread for more reports on this freeze issue.

What's a Edge attachment? Do you mean extensions? And what use is a browser which can't run extensions?
I'm going back to Chrome because of this issue. MS don't seem to care about fixing it.
That's a really bad solution just to get a browser working. Fair enough nobody needs skype, but you need windows updates. If that's the only thing that gets Edge working then just use Chrome, they're both Chromium browsers anyway.
