My Microsoft Edge browser keeps freezing up. I have tried all the suggested solutions with no success. I like the design and functionality offered by Edge, but will change to Firefox until I get a notice that Microsoft has fixed the problem with Edge freeze ups.

Modify and uninstall are greyed out and inactive. I should be Admin on this computer but is there another way to specify log in as Admin? Otherwise I can't do as you suggest.

I would like to get the version number of your Microsoft Edge.

    1. Click on the three dots menu button.
    2. Go to Help and feedback.
    3. Click on About Microsoft Edge.

If Edge freezes before getting to the About Microsoft Edge page, you can get the version number from Windows settings.

    1. Click on the Start button.
    2. Click on Settings.
    3. Click on Apps.
    4. In the list of Apps, click on Microsoft Edge.

    Hi everyone,

I would like anyone who has this issue to run the repair option and see if that solves the problem.

    1. Click on the Start button.
    2. Click on Settings.
    3. Click on Apps.
    4. In the list of Apps, click on Microsoft Edge.
    5. Click on Modify.
    6. Click on Yes if you have the User Access Control dialog displayed.
    7. Click on Repair.
    8. After it finishes the repair, run Microsoft Edge.

Yes, I simply stopped. I am using windows 11, and am waiting on some dependency to pop up, but have not seen it yet. It should not be an issue unless MS is up to no good. I have been a dominate Chrome user way back to when it first showed up on the scene.
