Troubleshooting browser crashes or performance issues on Windows 10

Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
My Microsoft Edge browser keeps freezing up. I have tried all the suggested solutions with no success. I like the design and functionality offered by Edge, but will change to Firefox until I get a notice that Microsoft has fixed the problem with Edge freeze ups.

Hi Jeff,
Since InPrivate mode worked, I would like for you to clear your cache and cookies and see if that solves it. Deleting cookies will sign you out of most sites.

I tried In private this morning and it seemed to work, but I still got a message that the page stopped responding. I did another update yesterday. Microsoft needs to work on this. It's their problem.
Dan
Hi Jeff,
I would like you to open the InPrivate window and go to msn.com and see if it is still freezing up.
- Click on the three dots menu.
- Click on New InPrivate window.
Eric
Hi Eric,
The InPrivate Window DOES seem to work, and pages don't stop responding, at least the last few minutes.
I hope this helps trouble shoot it.
I don't want to have to be in InPrivate mode all the time.
Why do I get the feeling it is going to end up being my whole profile that will have to be dumped and recreated? :)
Hope to hear from you soon.
Jeff
Eric,
Yes, it is the89.0.774.50 version. I did turn off what I think is the hardware accelerator and it seemed to help, but didn't completely solve the problem.
Dan
Hi Dan,
Are you still experiencing this with the latest version, 89.0.774.50? You can check what version you are on by clicking on the three dots menu and then go to Help and feedback. Then, click on About Microsoft Edge.
