remove Bing from microsoft edge

My question is very simple that is HOW DO I REMOVE BING AS SEARCH ENGINE FROM MICROSOFT EDGE.

Please, please and please give me a simple  and direct answer or solution and not by "beating around the bush"

I am getting very fed up with Bing appearing as my search engine. I never as for it but how come Bing came in as my search engine. There are thousands if not millions that HATE Bing. Why is it still there, JUST REMOVE IT OUT FROM THE WEB or whatever permanently.

PLEAE HELP ME TO REMOVE BING IN A VERY SIMPLIFIED  STEPS!

Assuming you're using the Chromium-based Edge, open Edge settings [click ⋯ (Settings and more) > Settings], then choose Privacy, search and services > Address bar and search > Manage search engines. You should see Google as an option. Click the ellipsis (three dots) at the right end of the entry and choose Make default.

    Assuming you're using the Chromium-based Edge, open Edge settings, then choose Privacy & services>Address bar>Manage search engines. You should see Google as an option. Click the ellipsis (three dots) at the right end of the entry and choose Make default.

    That was the first thing I did.  I then removed Bing from my search engines.  It still shows up. 

    I like the new Edge Chromium browser because it is faster and uses about hal the memory of Chrome but I will probably stop using it because of this.

    ... I still do not get my default search engine upon selecting a new tab!

    On the page where you changed the default search engine there is another setting: Search on new tabs uses search box or address bar. Change this to Address barto use your preferred search engine on the new tab page. 

      

    The page you want is edge://settings/search 

    The only differences you'll see on the new tab page are that the Bing logo disappears, and the search terms you enter will appear in the address bar, not in the search box.

    Been there, done that. No Bueno.  It's like a vampire that the stake through the heart doesn't work.

    You are asking the wrong question 

    Changing your search engine to something other than Bing is easy.  Seems to me your question, as is mine, is how to get rid the  Bing Search window in Edge even when your search engine is, as an example, Google.

    I have tried everything even to the extent of editing certain entries in the Registry.
