Microsoft Edge Freezes in Office 365 Outlook With Overlays - Mac OS

I'm having a very specific issue with Microsoft Edge where it freezes whenever I use Outlook (0365 Education on the web), and it produces an overlay of some type. This occurs when I open an email attachment, preview a message, and select a menu item that creates a confirmation overlay (for example when selecting 'empty folder'). It seems to be restricted to this behavior, and it reoccurs very frequently. I have tried the following:

  • Cleared Cache
  • Disabled / Removed Plugins
  • Reinstalled Edge

I'm currently using Microsoft Edge Version 107.0.1418.52 (Official build) (arm64). I'm on a MacBook Air M1 MacOS Monterey V 12.6 (21G115).

I'm wondering if there is a known issue with this type of behavior specifically. Thanks in advance for any insight.

UPDATE, EDITED (DEC 7): After a few weeks, this issue still persists on all builds on and after 107.0.1418.52. I have opened a ticket with Microsoft. While the solution kindly provided by par_0511 allows you to roll back, no fix has been applied. In my case, I cannot use Edge on a production machine due to the age of the last working version.

terry.schoof/Thom Hanford, Can you please try downloading >= 108.0.1462.46 build and share whether it works for you or not? You can download it from this page Microsoft Edge (see below image)

    Found the root cause for my case - it was Ublock Origin. Turning it off resolved the issue.

    Upgraded to the .62 release and was able to preview a document fine. Tried to compose a new email and attach a Word doc - no problems. Then, tried to preview the attached doc before I sent it, and Edge froze.

    Was not prepared for the freeze and lost all my work in other tabs - so I'll monitor this thread for now, but dropping Edge as my main browser until this is fixed.

    I updated Edge on my Macbook Pro 16 2021 today to Version 107.0.1418.62 (Official build) (arm64) and it seems to be working correctly.

    EDIT: I spoke too soon too too.

    Edge consistently freezes in OWA when previewing an attachment.

    Version 107.0.1418.56 (Official build) (arm64)

    Apple M1, 2020 - MacBook Air

    macOS Ventura 13.0

    Can confirm Edge operates as expected on Version 107.0.1418.42 (Official build) (arm64)
