Hello,
Edge version 97.0.1072.62 contains the fix and will be installed per your regular update policies over the next day or so. If you'd like to force the update immediately, you can head over to edge://settings/help in the address bar or Settings > About Microsoft Edge and trigger the update manually.
If you've made any registry edits or GPO changes as mitigation, you can revert those after the update!
Hi Kevin

it automatically comes again and again
I have given this workaround before. I use it and it works perfectly.
I drag the corner of the Edge Window from the bottom left to the top right making the window as small as possible, then ignore it. Every time it reopens, it just adds another unopened tab to the stack and it remains out of sight, out of mind.
This stupid overreach by microsoft is microsoft at it's worst.
There is no excuse for this kind of slimey policy.
Thankfully, it is neatly folded behind everything I'm doing - out of sight - out of mind.
Hey there Jon,
I know this was posted a while ago but it looks like a lot of folks are landing on this thread via search so I want to make sure you and other folks landing here can stop Edge from appearing when you don't want it.
Try this change in Windows Settings:
- Go to Start > Settings .
- Select Accounts > Sign-in options.
- Turn off Automatically save my restartable apps when I sign out and restart them when I sign in.
My settings were already set to off so is there something else to help?
