Edge is opening EVERY TIME I REBOOT!

Insidiously it is absent from all STARTUP control systems so we CAN'T STOP it.

Does congressional investigations of unfair trade practices do nothing?

How can microsoft be so trumpianly abusive?

Hello,

Edge version 97.0.1072.62 contains the fix and will be installed per your regular update policies over the next day or so. If you'd like to force the update immediately, you can head over to edge://settings/help in the address bar or Settings > About Microsoft Edge and trigger the update manually.

If you've made any registry edits or GPO changes as mitigation, you can revert those after the update!

Feel like this is much simpler solution:

    Go to start up apps.

    Turn off Microsoft Edge

People are free to be anti-Edge, though it escapes me why anyone would be 😕; bit like looking a gift-horse in the mouth❗But aside from that, it came to my Inbox from this thread someone suggesting/recommending using Internet Explorer, instead 👎👎

Using defunct Internet Explorer should never, ever be suggested or (worse) recommended. DO NOT even give a thought to IE❗

It was, also, said to install & use Adobe Reader for PDFs, instead of Edge... NOT NECESSARY❗ The OS comes with a built-in PDF Reader and PDFs can be open via other ways than in Edge, BUT there is no longer any need or reason to put a 3rd Party PDF reader in Windows (10 or 11).

    Cheers,
