Edge is opening EVERY TIME I REBOOT!

Insidiously it is absent from all STARTUP control systems so we CAN'T STOP it.

Does congressional investigations of unfair trade practices do nothing?

How can microsoft be so trumpianly abusive?

Hello,

Edge version 97.0.1072.62 contains the fix and will be installed per your regular update policies over the next day or so. If you'd like to force the update immediately, you can head over to edge://settings/help in the address bar or Settings > About Microsoft Edge and trigger the update manually.

If you've made any registry edits or GPO changes as mitigation, you can revert those after the update!

I totally did reply to you by mistake because that wasn't the fix I was referring to. I apologize, its just frustrating when folks provide fixes but clearly dont have the same situation replicated.

@Adrenoreceptor: I suppose you send me a reply by mistake.

nevertheless: I take it to heart and answer in more detail: The autostart Problem with the edge started in my company in the last days. I didn't find an MS update which has been installed. so I start searching for hours. I tried all recommended fixes like "check autostart, startup apps, change Startup-Boost, reconfigured policies, installed the latest adm-files, nothing helped. (BTW: we are a small company with about 500 (impatient) clients.)

At least I've found the above hint, tested it and it works.

    (I forgot: Windows 10 enterprise 20H2 x64)

Only way to fix it at the moment:

    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate\Clients{56EB18F8-B008-4CBD-B6D2-8C97FE7E9062}\Commands\on-logon-autolaunch

    AutoRunOnLogon = 0

    Thanks to xsawa

Feel like this is much simpler solution:

    Go to start up apps.

    Turn off Microsoft Edge

Well, its nice of you to suggest, but feeling like it...isn't "it".

It would be great if people who try to help, actually have the same problem and have fixed it. This may have been a solution before the problem was infected in to our computers by a Microsoft update, but Microsoft Edge doesn't appear in the startup list...at least after this assault on our sensibilities and intelligence.
