Hello,
Edge version 97.0.1072.62 contains the fix and will be installed per your regular update policies over the next day or so. If you'd like to force the update immediately, you can head over to edge://settings/help in the address bar or Settings > About Microsoft Edge and trigger the update manually.
If you've made any registry edits or GPO changes as mitigation, you can revert those after the update!
me too i've been through half a dozen fixes recommended by earnest MS representatives and NOTHING WORKS. Done with Microsoft, will buy other OS products from now on.
... this is practically the only Windows App where we do not have a choice to start it when we reboot.
Please see this article about Internet probing. Could it apply to the machines you're having trouble with? The default browser (for example, Internet Explorer or Edge) opens
It is a completely despicable policy choice and seems to be Microsoft's only way to make headway against the vastly more popular, practical and functional Chrome Browser and Google Search Engine - especially the Google Search Engine. They can't beat them, can't even compete with them, so they decided to try to wear down the public until they no longer have the will to choose.
My solution is to keep MS Bing/Edge open as a minimized box out of the way. The Maximize/Restore Down toggle, can be kept in Restore Down and the corners carried to the minimum size - about 1" x 4". This is a surrender of a portion of the screen in exchange for not having to see any BingEdge noise pumped onto the page and not having to take the time or thought to close it, is worthwhile. I don't even see it anymore, out of sight, out of mind, just a white rectangle in the corner.
