How do I stop Edge from automatically opening on start up? Windows 10 Pro 64 20H2

Edge is opening EVERY TIME I REBOOT!

Insidiously it is absent from all STARTUP control systems so we CAN'T STOP it.

Does congressional investigations of unfair trade practices do nothing?

How can microsoft be so trumpianly abusive?

Hello, 

Edge version 97.0.1072.62 contains the fix and will be installed per your regular update policies over the next day or so. If you'd like to force the update immediately, you can head over to edge://settings/help in the address bar or Settings > About Microsoft Edge and trigger the update manually.

If you've made any registry edits or GPO changes as mitigation, you can revert those after the update!

    BTW, rebooting should be quite a rare event... it's mainly only required when an update needs a reboot to complete OR when some maintenance has been done & that, also, needs a reboot to complete.

    Certainly, representing & involving 1.3+ billion End Users from around the world.

    And we can agree to disagree, as I personally believe the implications of the previous 2 comments are inaccurate or based on falsehoods... they don't apply to any reality.

    Also, a reminder, Edge is, indeed, Windows Default web browser... it is part of the OS, now.

    Try closing all instances of Edge & then Reboot. Do active Edge windows you HAD reopen by themselves?
