Hello,
Edge version 97.0.1072.62 contains the fix and will be installed per your regular update policies over the next day or so. If you'd like to force the update immediately, you can head over to edge://settings/help in the address bar or Settings > About Microsoft Edge and trigger the update manually.
If you've made any registry edits or GPO changes as mitigation, you can revert those after the update!
"You can search for it (Task Mgr) in the task bar."
Just to clarify, suppose technically speaking it is "in the Task Bar, but actually or more specifically, in Windows 11 it is found by Rt Clk the Win logo or using Win+X. Unless, of course, one has it pinned to the Task Bar.
In Win10 it is on the task bar's Rt Clk menu.

Yes, that is the way it SHOULD work, but Microsoft has disabled that option.
The best old solution is to just go to your task manager program. You can search for it in the task bar. Once it opens up. Go to the startup tab. You will then see the app. Once you do go to the status column and right click disable. That will stop it from popping up each time on start up.
Mine is off and Edge still starts every time I sign in to my computer.
