'Add all open tabs to collection' option is gone; when you right click on a tab it used to be at the bottom? Help?

    @Pascal VML, @TomDriscoll1

    I made only two troubleshooting steps.

    From page 1, amber Brugh's report:

    Fixed by logging out then doing a repair:

    Settings -> Apps -> Installed-> Edge -> Modify

    That didn't work for me.

    To be very clear, a previous poster did identify that the feature, when broken, appears when signed out of browser profile sync for personal accounts, yet disappeared when an Edge browser profile was signed in for sync. If you are signed in to a Microsoft Personal account in your browser profile, it is unlikely you'll see the feature. Try signing out to see the behavior under discussion. Take care not to remove local data, if prompted.

    From another post: Sign out of profile sync, create one or more tabs, make a tab group, add group. Sign in to profile sync. Wait until profile status reports "sync is on". Wait. I waited for more than 24 hours. I noticed the group I created when signed out, appeared when signed in. It had not been there previously. Checked for the add tab group context menu item and it was now present, where it had been missing for me for at least several months.

    @TomDriscoll1

    Changing the profile Microsoft account sync sign-in status does not toggle the menu item between "Add all tabs to collection" and "Add all tabs to favorites" as suspected on page 5. Notice in k_611113's screenshot, and in my experience as well, both choices are available.

    @Minburn1

    For the sake of completeness, I mentioned the two other relevant options from the tab Collections menus. There's an additional page level context menu choice "Add page to Collections" with a "►". It can be seen in @k_611113's post above. The right facing pointer is a GUI convention to indicate further menus exist, thus cascade. Choices are expected to be made from the menu, thus picklist. Hope that helps.

    I find Workspaces useful, but not an equal substitute for me. I encourage the MS Edge team to please keep the Collections feature.

    Regards,

    I'm wondering if some seemingly unrelated setting has to be engaged to make this work? Say . . . . some type of security or permission setting that has no mention of a tie to 'Collections' and such??

    I have the same version as well, signed in and sync in place, and I don't have any 'Collections' functionality at all when right-clicking on tabs.

    Now its talk of 'cascading' picklists . . . sheesh . . . .

    I switched to workplaces or workspaces and never looked back.
    The collections are easy to get to, just don't have thumbnail listings like collections does / did?

    I had the same problem, but this function appears to be added back. I'm not sure when, but I'm on version 131.0.2903.112.

    Image

    I can confirm Rt-click and

    "Add all tabs to Collections" with a cascading Collection picklist

    "Add all selected tabs to Collections" with a cascading picklist

    "Add tab group to a new Collection"

    now all work when signed in to a Microsoft Personal account or to a M365 Work or School account.

    Microsoft Edge

    Version 132.0.2957.115 (Official build) (64-bit)

    and

    Microsoft Edge for Business

    Version 132.0.2957.115 (Official build) (64-bit)

    During troubleshooting, I signed out of the personal account. Added tabs to a collection, waited a day or so, then signed back in to the personal account. The "Setting up sync" message persisted longer than usual. Within a day, collections added locally (not signed in) appeared in the signed in collections. Sometime after that, the context menu options reappeared.

    As noted by a prior poster, a separate profile with an M365 account always functioned properly.

    Tom S.

    no such function has returned - same version
