Internet Explorer mode gone?

The flags are set differently on Edge 88 and above, edit your edge shortcut target to this (or run via command line)

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" --flag-switches-begin --internet-explorer-integration=iemode --ie-mode-test --enable-features=msInternetExplorerIntegrationEnhancedHangResistance --flag-switches-end

You'll get a prompt about having an "unsupported command-line flag: --ie-mode-test..." but the open in ie option is there again in more tools as of Edge 88.0.705.63

You can additionally use local gpo or regedit to create a sitelist for websites you want to open in IE mode (using IE5-11) in case a site only works on versions older than IE11

Hello Microsoft Community,

For the past 2 months I had been using and testing IE Mode integration within the chromium version of the Edge Browser.

I had the "Enable IE integration" enabled in edge://flags and had been running Edge in admin with the command line "--ie-mode-test"
This was working on Friday 29th May but this morning 1st June the option in "More tools > Open in Internet Explorer Mode" is no longer present.

Any ideas or has IE integration moved exclusively to Local Group Policy ?

1. Open Edge Chromium
2. Go to URL: edge://compat/enterprise

This will go into the Enterprise Mode Site List

3. There should be a path to where this file is located.

On my system: file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Microsoft%20Edge/SiteList.xml

Translates To: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Edge\SiteList.xml

4. Open the file  text editor in Admin mode.
5. Go the the very end of the file.
6. Copy/paste the last entry and change the url to the appropriate URL.

  <site url="mydomain.com">

    <compat-mode>Default</compat-mode>

    <open-in>IE11</open-in>

  </site>

</site-list>

7. Click Force Update
8. You should see it on the list now.  It is sorted automatically by alpha.

*://mydomain.com/          IE11          False

9. Open a new tab and type in mydomain.com.
10. Next to the URL, there should now be a IE icon indicating it is in IE Compat mode.  
11. Test and verify as needed.

Interesting, I have 2 computers, one running 1909 (windows Pro) and one running 1803 Enterprise. both have Edge 88.0.705.81 running, the former has the slider on "Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode", the latter does not have that option.

The option is NOT THERE.  And ;Always is not a choice.  Only "Never" and "Incompatible sites only".
