Whenever I needed to view a pdf I always used Edge because it has a table of contents in the sidebar, but now that I'm using the new Edge, it no longer seems to have that, I was just wondering if this is a feature that hasn't been integrated yet, or if there's an alternate way of getting it back.

The table of contents feature is now available in the Stable release Edge 86 released October 9th.

Please update the table of content feature and the layout feature. This has been dragging for so long. At least, restore the functions of the old Edge version.
The table of contents feature is now available in the Dev and Canary releases of Microsoft Edge(Edge v87). Expect it to roll out to Stable in the future.
FOLLOW THESE STEPS:
Step1: Open Control Panel
Step 2: Uninstall Microsoft Edge (This new version)
Step 3: Restart your system
Now you can use the old version of Microsoft Edge(Microsoft Edge Legacy).
